Our History

Rawlinson & Hunter LLP is a firm of Chartered Accountants and the largest firm of Chartered Tax Advisers in the UK. The firm was established in London in 1933 by Alfred Rawlinson, John Hannaford and Robert Hunter. From the early days the client profile was distinguished enough to include a future Prime Minister. The firm became Rawlinson & Hunter LLP following the resignation of John Hannaford in 1938. The clientele was made up of three distinct groups; inherited wealth, stars of the stage and screen and commercial (including football pools companies and large multinational pharmaceutical businesses).

Robert Hunter was a frequent business traveler and it was largely due to his efforts in bringing in new international clients that the overseas offices began to be established. We also have offices in the Caribbean, Europe, South East Asia and Australia.

Clients stay with Rawlinson & Hunter LLP, thanks to the quality of service we offer. The vast majority of our clients come to us from personal referrals, and we act for many clients and their families for decades.
